After unwrapping it, you get the original ETH back. If you send it through ShapeShift, you can immediately see your ETH converted from. If you send it without ShapeShift, then just wait a couple of minutes for your account’s balance to update!
Unwrap Your Wrapped Ether
The first step is to Convert Weth to Eth. To do that, you’ll need to have an Ethereum enabled wallet, like a Metamask or Coinbase account. Note: This method works with only Ether but not any other ERC20 tokens or ERC223 tokens. The next thing you’ll need to do is go to Etherscan and paste in your contract address and ABI code. Weth tokens will be converted automatically on a Weth Value, first-served basis until either there are no more remaining WETH or until April 4th at 11:59 pm UTC whichever comes first. When converted into ETH, it will be deposited into your account immediately.
To Convert Weth to Eth, you have to have at least 0.01 ETH available in your account. If you wish to convert more than that, remember that you’ll have a 10-day waiting period for any excess amount above 0.01 ETH. You can always follow the same steps if you want to change back from WETH into Ether later. Wait For Confirmation
You need to confirm that you want to Convert Weth to Eth. This will trigger Metamask to transfer 0.001 Eth into your account so that you can pay for gas during conversion. You may need GAS. Check if there is ETH available in your account. To be able to convert unwrap all of your ERC20 tokens in a wallet, you might need about 0.001 ETH for gas for each token conversion. You will see how much GAS is needed on Metamask after confirming that you want to Convert Weth to Eth.
Can I Send WETH to ETH
WETH is a smart contract that holds a single ETH. By sending to an ETH address, you are unwrapping or burning and returning it to its original form ETH. If you want to Convert Weth to Eth, first create an Ethereum wallet like MyEtherWallet or Metamask. Once you have a crypto wallet, move your thereby copying its address found on Etherscan and pasting it into your new crypto wallet.
After that, send whatever amount of you want to be converted over to an empty ETH address when that transaction has been processed by miners, more ETH will appear in your new crypto wallet. If you have a private key, you can use it to unlock your wallet’s ETH and transfer it onto a new crypto wallet. This is a quicker process than converting your WETH into Ether. Once you’re ready, Convert Weth to Eth by pasting its address in with an empty Ethereum account, or by giving it a private key that unlocks its ETH balance. After that transaction has been processed by miners, more ETH will appear in your new crypto wallet.
